Jekyll Island is amazing at Christmas time. For $15 a carload (free with an annual pass), can enter the island and spend the day exploring. You can see millions of Christmas lights at night by following the marked "Self Guided Light Tour" signs beginning near the Jekyll Island Convention Center through the Great Dunes Park parking lot. The tour continues past Peppermint Land (Mini Golf Course) and across the island on Shell Road, displaying the 12 days of Christmas. On Old Plantation Road, there is parking to walk around the illuminated Grand Oak Trees and historic homes.

There are horse drawn carriage rides in the historic homes area. There is a light parade, Winter Carnival and fireworks on the calendar too.
